Remembering Matawan’s Trattoria Rustica, which recently went out of business after a multi-decade run. This was one of my favorite meals here, Chicken Ravello. It was a large dish containing three chicken breasts over penne pasts in marsala wine sauce. Then topped with asparagus and roasted red peppers. Going to miss this place!

Restaurant Review: Amy’s Omelette House (Long Branch, NJ)

Hear ye, hear ye, all those on diets, stay away from Amy’s! This place is named the “Omelette House” for a reason: there are 222 of them to choose from. You open up to the front pages of the menu and you are blitzed and inundated with options. The array is dizzying. How can any…

Travel Guide MD: Main Street Enchanted Tea Room (Berlin)

This was not so much a dining experience as it was a learning experience. Sometimes being in a restaurant on a slow day can be a good thing. It was a Friday afternoon and the town of Berlin was deserted. I had made a reservation for us at the Main Street Enchanted Tea Room anyway….

Restaurant Review: Thai Thai Cuisine (Old Bridge, NJ)

With two friends who own Thai restaurants in New Jersey, I know good Thai food when I see it, err, taste it. I had eaten at this establishment years ago when it was Pooket. Since it changed to Thai Thai, I had driven past many times without giving it much thought. Then last week, my friend…
