An Outdoor Cookout with an Unlikely Main Course

My friend Walter invited Justin and I over for dinner, but since Justin had to work, we decided to have a cookout featuring his least favorite meal in the world: liver and onions (with bacon). I love the stuff, and it’s usually a once a year treat for me. He cooked outside to allow for social distancing and we ate dinner in his beautiful candlelit screen house. Who knows: we might be the only people in the world to have prepared such a dish on an outside butane cook-top. 

I first prepared Negronis for us while he cooked using my travel martini kit before we moved on to chardonnay, which went surprisingly well with the liver, bacon, onions, and garlic mashed potatoes. A beautiful night in a wonderful hidden garden setting. Pictures are below:
