The old-fashioned American classic Lobster Newburg. Justin and I celebrated our anniversary last week and I wanted to make something luxurious. What’s in Lobster Newburg, you may wonder? Nothing that’s good for you. But what could top lobster (and a few shrimp thrown in), butter, cream, cheddar, egg yolks, and cognac? Exactly. Our cholesterol may have risen a hundred points, but Justin said this was the best dish I have ever made. I’ll take it. Served over one of his homemade buns (instead of the traditional toast points), and with rice pilaf and asparagus.
