Hey! It’s Melissa Misthal again, doggie-mom to Brie and excited for my favorite time of year: fall! The weather is cooler and there are so many dog-friendly activities and events to enjoy all around New Jersey! The greater-Bayshore area has so much to offer this season! This is not an extensive list, so go out there and explore and be sure to call-ahead to verify dog friendly details (as sometimes rules change without notice).

Pumpkin picking, corn mazing, and wining!
A family-owned farm that has been around forever, A. Casola Farms allows friendly pets on their farm and at their Fall Fest & Halloween events! Dogs must be leashed and can join in on pumpkin-picking and corn maze activities through 10/31.
The Casola family also owns and runs Fox Hollow Vineyards, a dog-friendly winery that is two minutes around the corner from the farm. Leashed dogs are allowed inside where you can order from the friendly bartenders a glass or flight of wine, bottles, and/or food (you may also bring your own light snacks). Dogs are also allowed at their other spaces, including a covered indoor/outdoor space and a fully outdoor space with fire pits and views of the farm and vineyard. Doggie bags are provided along the driveway and there’s plenty of space to take a walk. Every Friday there is live music from 6-9 PM. Six new wines were just released, fire pits are heated up, and mulled wine will be available soon! Fox Hollow is ages 21+ only.
Gorgeous hidden gem of a nursery!
Colonial Nursery is a huge indoor/outdoor garden store that is dog-friendly! We went just as fall/Halloween season was starting and saw beautiful displays of pumpkins, mums, and all your plant and decorating needs. Everything was beautiful and they are open year-round and constantly changing over their stock to meet the needs of the season! Go now to see all the fall-fun before everything turns over for the winter holidays!
About 10 minutes away from the nursery is downtown Red Bank which has many dog-friendly outdoor dining options, including: Robinson Ale House, Toast, Triumph Brewing Company, Pazzo (pretty much any restaurant that has outdoor seating, allows dogs). Our map of these places can help you pick where you want to go.
What? You want more? How about some locally crafted beer?
We really love the local NJ craft breweries. They have great beer and most are accommodating to canines! Belford Brewing Company is no exception! They have a cute tasting room that allows leashed dogs with a variety of beers to enjoy in different sizes. You can bring in food from the outside too! Check out their Hallowheat beer!
A few months ago, NJ.com reported that New Jersey now has 100 breweries, which is really amazing! Raritan Bay Brewing Co. is one of the newer ones and has been open for a few months now in a beautifully renovated historic building! They will have an outdoor patio space where doggies are allowed. You may bring your own food!

And some more, dog friendly fall events!
Highlands Farmers Market: While exploring the Highlands, we stumbled upon Highlands Business Partnership, Highlands NJ‘s Farmers Market at Huddy Park (on the corner of Bay Ave. and Waterwitch Ave.). We loved it because Brie was allowed (it’s a dog-friendly park), and there were truly local vendors selling their goods including fresh produce, baked goods, artists, craftsman, and we even met Sheila from the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society! She shocked us when she told us that Huddy Park is locally famous for the hanging of Patriot Joshua Huddy. Wow! Shop here every Saturday (the last event for the season is on 11/2).
Shore Side Veterinary Care’s 2nd Annual Howl-o-ween on 10/19.
Leonardo State Marina – Halloween and Pet festival on 10/26.
Dog’s Day Out at Jersey Shore Premium Outlets on 10/26 is a modern outlet center with a wide variety of stores to check everything off your shopping list. Dogs are allowed in the common areas and there is labeling on the outside of each store whether they are dog friendly. You can always ask if you really want to go in a store with your pup – we found that the employees are very flexible. Double D’s Doggie Delights, LLC has a stand selling fresh dog treats! There are also nice places to chill out and plenty of green areas for bathroom use!
Green Leaf Pet Resort – Howl-O-Ween Party on 10/26.
We hope you have so much dog-friendly fun this season! This is not an extensive list, so go out there and explore! If you want more now, check us out on Facebook and Instagram for additional information for places all over NJ! Thanks so much to Greg for the opportunity to share our doggie passion with you!
