On this last day of August, I think back to an absolutely perfect picnic I had on Sandy Hook just last week. Justin and I walked out to the tip of the hook and noticed a piece of a broken dock that had floated in and rested perfectly on the sand. We returned the next day with some nibbles (and beer to wash it down with) and had such an amazing time. The beach was isolated, the dock was clean and kept sand out of our food, and the water was a mere 20 feet away. What food did we have, you ask? Hummus and pita chips, breadsticks, prosciutto, olives, shrimp cocktail, and crab dip. Not bad, right?
