Ghost walks and tours around Gettysburg are a dime a dozen, and all very similar to each other. As hokey as they can get, even a paranormal investigator like me still manages to get enticed to take a tour when I’m in town. There’s just something about the atmosphere that makes it perfect for ghost stories. And I kid you not, almost every walking tour begins with the following joke: “Alright follow me. And just remember, the scariest part of our tour tonight is crossing the street”. They ain’t kidding.

Want a real experience? Go to the battlefield right at sundown and immerse yourself. Every time I have, I have felt the opposite of scared: a quiet, peaceful tranquility has fallen over me. 10 trips to Gettysburg and I still have not had a ghostly encounter. Still waiting…
