This is going to be a short post because there really is not much to say. We have another damn good spirit on our hands (and in our glasses). After reviewing Cask & Crew’s walnut toffee whiskey a few weeks ago, I had inquired with them to see if I could try their ginger spice blend. I could not find it in any stores by me, and being a fan of ginger, I needed to get some. They obliged by sending me a bottle, along with a hat and t-shirt. Thanks!
If I have learned one thing from tasting two of Cask & Crew’s products, it is that they really have their act together when it comes to blending and finding the right combinations. Once again, the whiskey was not too sweet and there was no hint of artificial flavor to be found. While the walnut toffee was more full-bodied, this ginger spice is a lot lighter. In fact, the delicate spice of the ginger tickles your tongue and warms your mouth. It’s just strong enough, but again, you still know you are drinking whiskey—that’s the important part. Mix with ginger beer and lime juice, or just sip straight. I can see this becoming my go-to in the winter months. I imagine shoveling snow and coming inside to this delightfully warming ginger spice whiskey. Great job!
